Fiddlewood is a tropical plant not found much farther north than central Brevard. Its wood is prized for cabinetry and musical instruments and its fragrant white flowers are used by many insects. |

White Stopper is another tropical plant. There are several stories as to how it got its name. Its dense growth can “stop” passage through a forest. Its fruits are high in tannin and a tea made from them can “stop” diarrhea. |

Wild Coffee is also found at Coconut Point. Its Generic name, Psychotria, comes from the Greek meaning roughly “medicine of the soul”. |

This tropical plant is known as Tallow Wood or Hog Plum. Its flowers are fragrant and attract many insects. Oils from the plant are used as insecticides. |
